A Complete Home Transformation
Our client in Henfield owns a beautifully traditional detached country house that had been built with classic craftsmanship. They loved the character of the property, with its old beams, cottage doors, and traditional brickwork, but they wanted to modernise the space while preserving its unique charm. The challenge was to bring contemporary features into the home without compromising its original character. This balance was particularly important in areas such as the staircase, flooring, and lighting.
Comprehensive Renovation Work
Interior Spaces
We fully renovated the bathroom, downstairs cloakroom, utility room, hall entrance, landing, stairs and cinema room.
Structural & Aesthetic Enhancements
We replaced the original staircase with a stunning oak staircase featuring integrated lights under each tread. We also introduced paneling for a sophisticated interior design touch and added recessed ceiling lights in the living room for a modern ambiance.
Plumbing & Utility Updates
Bespoke Storage & Flooring
We custom-built and installed wardrobes in the cloakroom, providing tailored storage solutions. In addition to this, we also retained the wooden flooring as per the homeowner’s preference. However, we sanded the wood back and stained it in a lighter shade to better compliment the new decor.
Materials & Finishing Touches
To maintain the traditional feel, we chose limestone tiles for the hallway and cloakroom. The original cottage doors were kept but we stained them in a different shade to refresh their look. We worked closely with S&S Decorating to ensure that the final aesthetic aligned with the homeowner’s vision.
